Bolon at Tent / London

This year's Tent at the Old Truman Brewery features this superb temporary restaurant/cafe, created by London's Vonsung design studio. Creative director Joseph Sung and his team have designed this pop-up pavilion. "We have had to conceive the design of the pavilion taking into account the very short construction time, the short life span of the restaurant and the need for it to return to the original state of the Truman Brewery shortly after the event," explains Sung.

In some ways it's a project about resourcefulness. The dramatic 147 sqm site is constructed using materials borrowed from Vonsung's existing project sites. "We are interested in how each project can develop from its own unique set of circumstances," says Sung. "Our mission was to search for the way materials ought to be."
